We offer accredited English language courses including IELTS, Cambridge FCE and Cambridge CAE test preparation year-round, as well as summer and winter study tour camps for international students from around the world of all ages and abilities. All courses are CRICOS registered for student visas.

AICOL Gold Coast English school is an IELTS pre-test centre, and the school occupies its own premises in Southport, facing the Broadwater and the Pacific Ocean. Our maximum number of students per class is 15, with an average of 12. All rooms have natural lighting and are air-conditioned, providing an excellent and comfortable learning environment. 

English Language Test Preparation Courses:

IELTS Test Preparation Course:
IELTS (The International English Language Testing System) is the world's leading test of English for higher education (for entry to college & university), immigration and employment.

It measures your ability to communicate in English across all four language skills - Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking.

AICOL has a long and well-regarded history of achievements in IELTS test preparation. Our Director of Studies who has been with us since 1993, is a senior IELTS examiner, and our senior English for Academic Purposes teacher, who has been with AICOL for over 10 years, has a genuine commitment to the success of her students, and an enviable track record in producing IELTS test results.

IELTS test preparation is a component of our General English (Academic Purposes) Course. AICOL Gold Coast English school is an IELTS pre-test centre.

Students are prepared to sit the IELTS test through completion of past papers, and through concentrating on improving their weaknesses, whether they be in reading, writing, listening or speaking.

Our teachers and staff are just as nervous and expectant as our students when the time comes for the test results.

Academic English for University & Other Third-level Studies (Accredited course)
This course has an entry requirement of Upper-Intermediate level proficiency in English and aims to prepare students for tertiary studies in Australia at diploma, undergraduate or postgraduate level.

Students undergo a highly intensive programme of study, which includes: Academic Writing, Presentation and Seminar Skills, Note-taking, Library and Research Skills, Study Skills and Computer Competency.

The programme also prepares students for the IELTS international test - the English language examination required for entry to university and to TAFE.

Course Length:  Study English in Australia from 1-48 weeks (as required by student needs). 

Cambridge Exam Preparation Courses:
Students taking our General English courses or Academic English courses can also prepare for the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) exam, the Cambridge First Certificate in English (FCE) exam, and the Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE) exam.

The Cambridge First Certificate in English (FCE) exam is an exam for those who need to prove that they can use everyday spoken and written English at an upper-intermediate level for study or work purposes.

The Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE) exam is an in-depth, high-level qualification that can be used for study, work and immigration purposes.

AICOL Online English School for students who cannot visit Australia currently:
Using Zoom video technology, we are delivering our Academic English course (which includes IELTS test preparation), General English classes (for elementary, intermediate and advanced levels), and High School Preparation courses. We can provide one-on-one, private English lessons or English for groups upon request. We are also trialing an online English class for Young Learners.
