The literary language (Modern Standard Arabic or al-fuSHaa) is uniform across the Arabic speaking world from Morocco in the West to the borders of Iran in the east, and from Lebanon in the North to the Sudan in the South. However, the spoken language changes from country to country, and even from city to city. Our courses are designed to teach a form of Arabic called Formal Spoken Arabic (also known as "Educated Spoken Arabic," "Inter-Arabic," and "Middle Arabic"), which represents a blend of the major urban colloquial forms.

Located in downtown Seattle near the beautiful waterfront, WAL offers Spanish programs for all levels. Courses emphasize the way Spanish is actually spoken and written. From the first day, participants begin speaking and listening at natural speeds. The most common pronunciations of Spanish from Mexico and South America are used. Participants will, in addition, be able to accommodate the pronunciation differences in Spain, as well as those from Argentina and Venezuela.
Our graduates are able to communicate easily with native Spanish speakers at the level of grammar and vocabulary they have attained.

The Alliance Française of Seattle is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization incorporated in the State of Washington. Our principal mission is to promote the appreciation of Francophone culture and the French language, and to encourage friendship and collaboration with the French-speaking world. We are a French school, French cultural center and a major French exam center in the Pacific Northwest.

UESL Program, Central Washington University

The University English as a Second Language (UESL) Program at Central Washington University (CWU) in Ellensburg, Washington, is located in the center of Washington State in the Northwestern US. Central Washington University is a public university with 8,000 students. Popular majors include business, accounting, education and music. Conditional undergraduate admission is offered and the UESL recommendation is accepted in place of the TOEFL. Interesting courses, opportunities to visit undergraduate classes, and experienced, professional teachers (all have master's degrees in teaching English). Ellensburg is a safe, friendly university town with many outdoor recreational activities just two hours from Seattle. Ellensburg has the Jazz in the Valley Festival and the Kittitas County Rodeo and Fair each year.

As an alternative space, it offers affordable language instruction and small class sizes (8 -10 students per class), in downtown Seattle, WA. Each students development is followed closely. A strong grammatical foundation is established while discussing customs, traditions, travel information, food, wines and integrating personal interests/goals. A common cause of frustration in language acquisition is the lag-time between student/teacher interactions caused by large classes. A smaller class size allows more individual attention, less delay and allows students to address individual issues the moment they occur in his/her learning.
