Online learning also helps students become more familiar with their own learning skills and knowledge and helps prepare them for a 21st Century workplace with 21st Century skills. By offering a variety of online learning opportunities, students are able to learn in the way that helps them learn best. It also offers opportunities for credit recovery and acceleration in the curriculum as well as a flexible schedule for all.
- Project-Based Learning
Each course at FlexTech High School will provide an opportunity for a student to conduct a project-based learning activity. Project-Based Learning involves students investigating real world questions and problems and developing solutions through products, performances or other methods. Through this investigation process, students develop skills and demonstrate knowledge that meets the standards of the Michigan Merit Curriculum.
- Classroom Experiences
Although online learning opportunities offer the potential to meet the unique needs of many students, they cannot respond to all needs of today’s students. Students need opportunities to develop critical thinking skills as well as teachers who can provide alternative methods to learn material.

Michigan Virtual School

Based in Lansing, Michigan, Michigan Virtual School (MVS) enables Michigan high schools and middle schools to provide online courses and other learning tools to middle and high school students. We offer MVS Plus (high school and middle school) and Advanced Placement courses, taught by certified teachers. MVS works in cooperation with individual school districts to grant course credit and diplomas throughout Michigan.
Through MVS, Michigan high school and middle school students can take a variety of courses and learn any place there is a computer and an internet connection. MVS doesn't award credit or diplomas, but students receive a completion certificate recognized by local and intermediate school districts that award credit and diplomas. Once you enrol with eTutorWorld, a diagnostic assessment is sent to evaluate your strengths & areas for improvement.
