Solid Rock Community School:
Located in Tarpon Springs FL, convenient to Pinellas, Pasco and Hillsborough Counties, Solid Rock Community School is a not-for-profit, college preparatory private school for students in Grades K-12. We provide homeschool programs with a range of options to choose from. Solid Rock offers programs outside of our day school for families seeking additional opportunities or experiences for their children. These programs are open to all children who fit any specific program eligibility requirements, they do not need to be a student of our school to participate. We are nationally accredited by the Florida Coalition of Christian Private Schools and the National Association of Private Schools.

Homeschool Study Options for K-12 Students:
Solid Rock Community school offers programs outside of our day school for families seeking additional opportunities or experiences for their child(ren). These programs are open to all children who fit any specific program eligibility requirements. You do not need to be a student of our school to participate.

Homeschool Program:
Solid Rock Community School offers many options for homeschool families. Community Day (Fridays) is open for homeschool participation. It is a great opportunity for your child to have social and academic experiences not typically available in the home.

Community Day differs from the traditional homeschool co-op offering one day a week of traditional classes (math, language arts…). Instead, Community Day is one day a week of specialty clubs (mechanics, cooking, drama, woodworking, …). The day is structured and supervised, yet the club activities are extremely fun, hands-on, and social. Community Day participation encourages teamwork, problem solving, creativity, thinking outside the box, and peer relationships.

Virtual School Program:
Solid Rock Virtual School (SRVS) is a privately run virtual school program serving students in any location with internet access. SRVS is the right choice in flexibility for:

Virtual school class benefits:
1. Classes begin every day of the year so students can begin at any time.
2. Classes are self paced. Finish a class in a matter of weeks or take as long as you need.
3. Traditional and specialty classes, unit studies, and electives for all academic levels.
4. Work at different levels for each subject chosen. Work at YOUR ability level, as courses are not grade-level mandated.
5. Classes consist of multimodal teaching. Many of the classes use video (visual), sound (aural), student packs (kinesthetic), reader (lessons), and writer (assignments) to keep every style of learner engaged.

7. Final grades provided and options for report cards and accredited transcripts.
8. Students can view lessons and complete assignments from most computers and locations, not restricting them to using only their home personal computer.

Umbrella School:
A 600 school or umbrella school is generally a private school which has an option available for students who do not attend any or all classes on site at the school’s facility. It is the perfect choice for homeschool families who wish to have the support or guidance of a school and/or academic advisor, but wish to have control of their child’s academics.

Benefits:
- Families who sign up under an umbrella school option essentially become “blanketed” or covered by the umbrella school. When a family is covered by an umbrella school, the umbrella school stands between the family and the state in which the family resides. This is very important to a family who does not want to be held accountable to the state for their schooling decisions. Instead, the family is held accountable to the private/umbrella school.

- Our umbrella school offers the legal protection of a private school, curriculum support, academic advisory, and counseling and support services. In addition, we offer a variety of activities, parties, clubs and and social experiences to our “umbrella” families.

- Our umbrella schools meets the requirements of the state of Florida in regard to education. Families who are registered under our private / umbrella school are required to meet the guidelines of our school (i.e., families turn in student applications, immunization cards, grades from all classes taken from any location, and attendance records).

- Our umbrella school allows the child to receive a diploma from an accredited school. A diploma from an accredited school is important to have when a child starts the college application process.

When using Solid Rock Virtual School, families have the option of enrolling in Solid Rock Community School’s accredited private school program as a homeschool student.
