Job Description
The Opportunity The Rothwell Center for Teaching and Learning Excellence (RCTLE) is seeking an Instructional Consultant I to support academic and instructional excellence across Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University-Whoever. This position guides, mentors, and develops faculty throughout their teaching lifecycle through individualized consultation, faculty observation, professional development, and evidence-based instructional practices. The Instructional Consultant I will collaborate with faculty, college leadership, instructional designers, and university departments to strengthen teaching and learning and positively impact student success.
Key Responsibilities- Provide guidance, mentoring, and individualized support to new and experienced faculty.
- Review assigned courses and provide recommendations aligned with best practices in teaching and learning and contractual expectations.
- Conduct annual faculty observations and recommend resources and strategies for improvement.
- Research and evaluate emerging pedagogical resources and instructional technology practices.
- Plan, coordinate, and facilitate optional and college-specific faculty training and professional development offerings.
- Develop and update instructional resources based on RCTLE and college needs.
- Collaborate with college leadership and university departments to identify concerns, resolve issues, and develop proactive instructional solutions.
- Work with Instructional Designers and Course Developers to evaluate data, identify trends, and support improvements to instructional design and development.
- Maintain current knowledge of pedagogy, instructional technology, the scholarship of teaching and learning, and university curriculum and policies.

- Generous Time Off:

The annual salary range for this role is up to $53,000. The final offer will be based on the candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience, as well as applicable state regulations, internal equity, and business needs, and may fall outside of the stated range.
Qualifications- Master's degree in education, educational leadership, educational administration, instructional technology, instructional design, or a related field.
- At least three years of teaching experience; online higher education experience is preferred.
- Strong administrative, research, project management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of evidence-based teaching practices and instructional technology.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with faculty, RCTLE staff, college leadership, and university departments.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and without close supervision.
This position is based within the ERAU-Worldwide environment and operates in a typical office setting. The role requires strong communication, collaboration, organization, independent judgment, and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
