Overview

Galaxy Plastics is looking for an Office Assistant to fill a short‑term 6‑month full‑time contractual position. The company has been a leader in the water and wastewater field for fabricated PVC fittings since 1990.

Job Duties
  • Filing and maintaining Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) documents.
  • Assisting with invoice data entry and general administrative duties.
  • Supporting office personnel with day‑to‑day operations.
  • Operating general office equipment and machines.
  • Maintaining and organizing filing systems and records.
  • Keeping work station and area clean and organized.
  • Assisting the department with additional duties as required.
Physical Demands
  • Primarily sedentary work with prolonged periods at a desk and on a computer.
  • Frequent use of hands and fingers to operate a keyboard, calculator, and other office equipment.
  • Standing, sitting, pacing, and walking within the office environment.
  • Regular visual focus required for reviewing documents, spreadsheets, and data entry with a high level of accuracy.
  • Occasional lifting and carrying of light office materials (e.g., files, boxes of documents) up to 10–15 lbs.
  • Repetitive motions such as typing and data entry.
  • May require minimal reaching, bending, or stretching to access files or office equipment.
  • Occasional deadlines may require extended periods of concentration or long computer use.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Participate in and further the Company’s health & safety program.
  • Report equipment malfunctions immediately.
  • Offer suggestions for process improvement.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Previous experience working in an office setting preferred.
  • Knowledge of Sage 300 ERP is an asset.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • Strong organizational and time‑management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Shift & Hours
  • Onsite, in‑person.
  • Monday to Friday.
  • 9 am to 5 pm.
