Overview

We are looking for a Payroll & Benefits Specialist to join our Finance team! Our Payroll & Benefits Specialist will champion the administration of payroll and benefits to Silver Hills employees in Canada and the United States.

Opportunities

In this role, you will join an existing team of two and ensure accurate distribution of compensation and benefits and manage key systems. The environment is fast‑paced and there is a lot on the go at any given point in time! With that, you will be able to showcase your process‑driven mind and persistence for accurate results! Also, there will be opportunities to learn new skills and help develop best practices to streamline some of our processes.

Requirements
  • Drive & motivation:

  • Character & abilities:
    You are uber organized and have a keen eye for detail
  • Knowledge & skills:
    You have excellent computer skills including MS Office
  • Experience:

    You have 3+ years' experience working in a similar capacity
Nice‑to‑Have
  • Experience with Ceridian Dayforce and MS GP
  • Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) is a bonus
Responsibilities
  • Ownership of regular payroll activities for US and Canadian employees
  • Benefits Administration & Employee Expense Reimbursement
  • Provide excellent customer service answering employee related questions and requests
  • Maintain accurate records payroll & benefits and follow up with discrepancies
  • Reconcile all payroll filings and prepare accurate journal entries
  • Manage Ceridian Dayforce related activities, making changes and updates as required
  • Prepare year end T-4's for distribution to employees and Receiver General
  • Actively participate in various benefits, systems, and payroll related projects
  • Journal Entries and Payroll Related Accruals
  • Payroll Reporting
