Dairy Department and Nutrition Lead; Friesen Group of Companies

To lead and direct the overall dairy sales and service department. Support the sales process through direct customer sales as well as support and direct the department’s sales activity. Management of dairy formulations, nutrition programs, and technical services to support products and service staff in coordination with the Director of Sales.

• Responsible for following biosecurity and other company policies.

• Maintains knowledge of and executes all Company Safety Policies and Procedures as required by the organization and other regulatory agencies.

• Responsible for utilizing CPM Dairy or similar to optimize performance of feed formulations and on-farm rations in coordination with sales/service staff.
• Reviews and updates standard and custom dairy feed formulations on a timely basis.
• Responsible for the technical services, including but not exclusively supporting business development with input for nutrition proposals, supporting new product introductions with input on marketing and promotional materials, providing sales/service support to a specified customer, conducting ration audits to support sales/service staff as required on a customer-by-customer basis, and reporting of activities.
• Responsible for providing sales/service staff training and support.
• Responsible for direct customer contact and sales.
• Overcome business and technical objections of prospective customers.
• Assists in planning, coordinating, implementing, and monitoring the Company's sales and feed programs to enhance and maximize dairy production and performance.
• Assists in the preparation of the Sales Department operating budget, capital budget, and operation plan.
• Coordinates overall incoming ingredient quality control.
• Maintains knowledge of and communicates industry developments.
• Acts as a representative at key industry meetings and functions.
  
  Inform the Sales Manager immediately of concerns or problems.

• 3 years on-farm dairy experience
• Minimum 5 years directly related work experience

• Minimum post-graduate university degree
• Must possess a master's degree in Animal Nutrition
• Possess a Veterinary Drug Dispenser Certificate or be willing to acquire within three (3) months.

• Proficiency with Brill software program
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to relate professionally with customers, suppliers, and personnel.
• Must be detail-oriented
• Intermediate office software knowledge
