The purpose of this role is to undertake a formal apprenticeship within Liebherr-Canada Ltd, and is intended for current, high performing employees looking to advance or students interested in pursuing an accredited trade and future career with Liebherr.
All apprentices are required to complete the necessary formal education and obtain necessary working hours with Liebherr to receive a provincially recognized license prior to permanent job placement. The apprenticeship position is intended to support business succession planning, offering potential for a long-term career within Liebherr-Canada.
Resposibilities
Adhere to company health, environment and safety policiesAttend classroom training as required and complete a recognized apprenticeship framework to a high standardEnsure and maintain the health, safety and welfare of themselves and others in the workplaceAttend daily toolbox and safety meetings as scheduledEnsure all documentation is completed as requiredFollow a set rotation and training plan in the workplacePrepare heavy equipment or essential responsibilities for repairIdentify and order parts to complete repairCleaning of equipment pre- and post- repairCarry out repairs, modifications, rebuilds, servicing, maintenance under Journeyman supervisionMaintaining the workshop areas and keep work bays clean and well-organizedAny other task or project as required to suit business needs as directed by manger or supervisorCompetencies
Basic knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical componentsAlready enrolled or will enroll in a Heavy Equipment Parts programDemonstrated diagnostic and troubleshooting skills, component exchange, repair and warranty related activitiesAbility to read and understand schematics and technical drawingsYou are able to effectively communicate detailed and complex information in a clear and concise mannerYou are self-motivated with the ability to carry out task as directedProficient with computers and Microsoft Office suiteOur Offer
