Operations
CUPE, Auxiliary J

The City of Abbotsford’s Operations department is currently seeking an experienced professional to join their dynamic team as an Auxiliary Trades II Electrician for approximately 7 months. In this position you will perform skilled service and new installation work at the trades level. This may include:

• Installation of new electrical systems
• Maintenance and repair of water distribution, sewage collection, and drainage equipment, related valve systems, and connected telemetry
• Maintenance and repair of building electrical systems
• Maintenance and repair of streetlights and traffic signals.

The successful candidate will have thorough knowledge of the methods, materials, tools, and equipment used in the maintenance and repair of building system components and related installations. Considerable knowledge of all Codes and Regulations regarding facilities, equipment, and safety along with experience in automatic controls and pumping systems is essential to the position.

To be considered for this position, you will possess the following:

• Grade 12
• BC Certificate of Electrical Qualification with Interprovincial Red Seal
• Five (5) years’ experience in the trade
• Valid BC Driver's Licence

This position is unionized, CUPE Local 774, and the hourly rate of pay is from $38.99 to $45.88.
