Now Hiring – Heavy Equipment Mechanic (Permanent F/T)

PSI Concrete Pumping (KC’s Pumping Services) is a family owned and operated business located in Abbotsford, B.C. offering our services in Greater Vancouver, throughout the Fraser Valley and surrounding areas. We provide concrete pumping and placing and finishing services for residential, commercial, and industrial sites.

We are currently seeking to hire several heavy equipment mechanics in permanent, full time positions, to start as soon as possible for our many upcoming projects. You will be based out of Abbotsford, BC, and our projects are throughout the Greater Vancouver urban area. Our starting wage is $45.00/hour based upon a 40 hour work week.

We are looking for someone to start as soon as possible. You should be willing to be flexible with shift work, on-call and willing to work overtime. Hours can be morning, day, evening, night as well as weekends. You must speak English. You should have completed high school and have between 2years to less than 3 years experience.

Responsibilities

Specifically you will troubleshoot and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions; adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts; test repaired equipment for proper performance and to ensure that work meets manufacturers specifications; clean, lubricate and perform other maintenance work; keep maintenance reports and documentation; perform repair work on heavy trucks. You will be working with drive trains and final drives, power take offs, wheel mounted vehicle suspension and steering and brake systems as well as compressors and pumps.

As well, you will be working with fuel injection system, exhaust system, cooling system, air conditioning system, and lubrication systems. All work will be done ‘in-shop’. You should have steel toed safety boots and be able to lift 45 kgs (100 lbs). You should have good attention to detail and there may be bending, crouching and kneeling.

You should be a team player who is dependable with good manual dexterity.
