Assembler / Rig Out Technician*
* ** Job Description*
* The Assembler (Rig Out Technician) outfits and upfits new truck chassis and work vehicles with customer-specific equipment and accessories. This role focuses on installing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems on truck bodies and accessories to deliver clean, factory-quality finished vehicles that meet high workmanship and safety standards.
** Responsibilities*
* Install service bodies, crane decks, flat decks, and related truck bodies on new truck chassis.
Install and integrate lighting systems, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems on work vehicles.
Mount truck accessories and ensure all installations are level, square, and properly aligned.
Read and interpret installation drawings, blueprints, schematics, and work orders to complete jobs accurately.
Complete wiring for auxiliary systems and truck accessories, ensuring proper routing and secure connections.
Route and secure hydraulic and electrical lines in a clean, professional, and safe manner.
Use hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently for cutting, fastening, mounting, and assembly tasks.
Perform quality checks to ensure all equipment and installations meet internal standards and customer requirements.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area throughout the shift.
Ensure the final product has a clean, professional, factory-quality appearance before delivery.
Work independently in active shop bays while coordinating with other team members as needed.
Follow all safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment when working around large vehicles, heavy components, and shop equipment.
** Essential Skills*
* Strong mechanical aptitude with proven hands-on assembly and installation experience.
Minimum 3+ years of experience installing or assembling mechanical equipment, including electrical wiring, hydraulic systems, and equipment installation.
Ability to confidently use hand tools and power tools in an industrial or mechanical environment.
Ability to read tape measures accurately and work to precise measurements.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, installation drawings, schematics, and work orders.
Ownership of basic mechanic hand tools suitable for mechanical assembly and installation work.
Experience with mechanical assembly, mechanical installation, and troubleshooting.
Experience with electrical assembly, wiring of accessories, and basic electrical repair.
Experience with hydraulic systems, including routing and securing hydraulic lines.
Background in equipment installation, maintenance, and repair in a shop or field environment.
High attention to detail and commitment to clean, professional workmanship.
Ability to work independently and stay organized while managing tasks and priorities.
Strong organizational skills to track work orders, parts, and installation steps.
Comfort working with hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment in a busy industrial setting.
** Additional
Skills & Qualifications *
* Transport trailer manufacturing experience is preferred but not mandatory.
Welding ticket is considered an asset, including experience with aluminum welding.
Overhead crane ticket is an asset for handling large components safely.
Forklift ticket is an asset for working around and moving heavy parts and equipment.
Experience in trailer service, fabrication, or related trades is beneficial.
Interest in career progression into trailer service, fabrication, or related shop roles.
Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with shop and office teams.
Commitment to safety and consistent use of personal protective equipment.
