Position Overview:The CNC Machine Repair Technician is responsible for maintaining the reliability, safety, and performance of CNC machine tools and related production equipment. The technician diagnoses equipment failures, completes mechanical and electrical repairs, performs preventive maintenance, and supports machine installation and continuous-improvement activities.
This position works closely with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and machine operators to reduce unplanned downtime and keep production equipment operating safely and to specification.
This role is based in our Abbotsford location and this role is a fully onsite role.

Schedule:Monday - Friday
7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
Pay: $30.00-$50.00 / Per Hour
- Troubleshoot and repair CNC machine tools, including electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, lubrication, coolant, and chip-management systems.
- Diagnose faults involving CNC controls, PLCs, servo drives, spindle systems, encoders, sensors, motors, power supplies, relays, contractors, and other machine components.
- Complete scheduled preventive and predictive maintenance inspections in accordance with manufacturer recommendations and internal maintenance standards.
- Identify the root causes of recurring failures and recommend corrective actions that improve equipment reliability, quality, and uptime.
- Perform machine alignments, calibrations, geometry checks, backlash checks, and other accuracy-related maintenance within the technician’s qualifications.
- Repair or coordinate the repair of components such as spindles, ball screws, way systems, tool changers, turrets, conveyors, pumps, and coolant systems.
- Support the installation, relocation, commissioning, and decommissioning of CNC machines and auxiliary equipment.
- Respond to equipment breakdowns with urgency, communicate repair status clearly, and escalate issues when outside expertise, parts, or manufacturer support are required.
- Maintain accurate work orders, service records, failure notes, parts usage, and preventive-maintenance documentation in the maintenance system.
- Help manage critical spare parts by identifying high-risk components, maintaining appropriate inventory levels, and sourcing replacements when required.
- Provide operators and maintenance team members with guidance on proper machine care, early warning signs, and basic troubleshooting practices.
- Coordinate with equipment manufacturers, service providers, and parts vendors while managing repair quality, timing, and cost.
- Follow lockout/tagout and all other applicable safety procedures. Identify and correct unsafe equipment conditions before returning machinery to service.
- Travel to and support other company CNC locations when required.
- Perform other related duties and continuous-improvement projects as assigned.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor or Management.
- Technical diploma, apprenticeship, certification, or equivalent training in industrial maintenance, millwright, electrical, electronics, mechatronics, or a related discipline.
