Test backflow assemblies across Abbotsford and the Fraser Valley using plumbing expertise, troubleshooting skills, and careful record keeping. Daily customer-site travel is required.
Fraser Valley Fire Protection seeks a Backflow Assembly Tester for full-time, permanent service work. You will inspect, maintain, repair, and rebuild assemblies at commercial, industrial, institutional, and multi-residential properties. The work supports potable water protection and municipal cross-connection requirements.
Key Responsibilities:- Test and inspect backflow prevention assemblies
- Maintain, repair, and rebuild assemblies
- Diagnose failures and recommend repairs or replacements
- Complete accurate reports for customers and municipalities
- Communicate findings and provide professional customer service
- Valid BCWWA Backflow Assembly Tester certification
- Knowledge of BC Plumbing Code requirements
- Understanding of municipal cross-connection control bylaws
- Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License
- Ability to perform physical work at various sites
