Overview
General Construction Superintendent job at Bering Straits Native Corporation. Aberdeen, MD. Eagle Eye Electric, a subsidiary of Bering Straits Native Corporation, is currently seeking a local and qualified General Construction Superintendent IDIQ Task Order type contract. The Superintendent is directly responsible for the safe and efficient execution of the project and will be onsite for the duration of the projects. This includes implementation of the project plans as well as project oversight and coordination with the project team.
The position requires a close working relationship with the Project Manager, Site Safety & Health Officer, Foreman, and Quality Control/Quality Assurance Manager (QM), as well as other project team members. The Site Superintendent must have at least 3 years of applicable experience on projects involving civil construction, railroad, utilities, infrastructure, etc. The Site Superintendent is required to possess the ability to prepare written technical reports covering all aspects of construction activities;
to track site costs on a daily basis; to manage and ensure proper execution of multiple simultaneous subcontracts and/or vendors of varying types and complexity; and to mediate with tact when dealing with customers.
- On-site implementation and coordination of the project plans per the SOW
- Schedule and execute all phases of construction
- Estimating experience including RSMeans
- Attendance at regular internal and external tailgates meetings including daily discussions on project health and safety
- Preparation of daily reports with Project Manager, Site Safety & Health Officer and QCM
- Review and processing of project submittals
- Active role in daily, weekly, and monthly meetings with all on site staff
- Coordination with on-site subs
- Other duties as assigned
- High School Degree or equivalent
- Demonstrated experience with RSMeans pricing
- A minimum of 3 years in Construction with a preference for Federal/DOD work
- OSHA 30 Training
- Excellent communication skills with internal and external customers
- Excellent computer skills
- Skilled in Microsoft Office programs
- Construction management experience
- Federal government or DOD experience in construction
- First Aid/CPR certified
- Constant state of mental alertness at all times.
- May require maintaining physical condition for bending, stooping, sitting, walking or standing for prolonged periods.
This position is not subject to federal requirements regarding Department of Transportation "safety-sensitive" functions.
Work Environment- Job performed in an office setting with exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, mouse, and multi-line telephone system. Occasional travel may be required.
Hires and supervises direct reports.
Additional Qualifying FactorsAs a condition of employment, you will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening and have acceptable background check results. If applicable to the contract, you must also obtain the appropriate clearance levels required and be able to obtain access to military installations.
