Wind Turbine Blade / Composite Specialist

Certification plays a vital role in the energy transition. It provides independent, third-party assurance that wind turbine components meet the highest standards for safety, quality, and performance. Through our work, we help enable collaboration and trust across the industry—from manufacturers and developers to investors, insurers, and public authorities—supporting the deployment of reliable wind energy worldwide. To support our continued growth, we are looking for a Wind Turbine Blade / Composite Specialist with project management skills to join our team.

In this role, you will contribute to the delivery of certification services to leading players in the wind industry.

You will work closely with our team of highly qualified wind turbine blade professionals spread over our locations in Hamburg, Copenhagen, Shanghai, and Beijing.

The main tasks you will be working with are:

  • Drive type approval activities by defining certification scope, validating test evidence, overseeing laboratory execution, and supporting manufacturing and inspection compliance.
  • Manage certification projects by coordinating stakeholders, planning deliverables, and ensuring timely and high-quality execution in line with certification requirements.
  • Certification of wind turbine blades with focus on design for manufacture
  • Technical support in failure investigations and Root Cause Analyses
  • Inspection activities for blade certification projects, including manufacturing inspections, field inspections, witnessing of tests
  • Travel activities to manufacturing sites must be expected (around 20-30 days a year)

About You

To thrive in this position you would ideally have some or all of the following qualifications:

  • Degree in Materials Science (composites), Wind Turbine Technology, Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering, with a focus on composite structures from e.g. an internship or a master thesis at a relevant company
  • Have strong English skills (written and spoken)
  • Local language skills:
    Danish, German or Mandarin will be an advantage but it is not a prerequisite
  • Experience as a wind turbine blade service engineer or process engineer from a blade manufacturer, a wind farm owner or a blade service and repair company will be beneficial
  • Knowledge of one or more of the following areas:
    • Manufacturing technology of wind turbine blades
    • Assessment of manufacturing defects in wind turbine blades
    • Fleet reliability analyses - Blade repair techniques
