We are looking for a Specialist Contract & Claim Management for the Service Line Design & Engineering.

The position is located in our global business area Mobility. We work with our clients around the world to develop thriving, connected cities and communities that offer everyone a chance and drive the world forward. As a Contract & Claim Management Specialist in the Design & Engineering area, you will take responsibility for exciting infrastructure projects and help develop innovative and sustainable solutions together with our clients and teams.

You will accompany the contracts of infrastructure planning. You will identify potentials for improving results, from the claim to the receipt of payment, and implement them. With commercial expertise and technical understanding, you will familiarize yourself with the complex project contents as an internal contact person for BA Mobility. With your experience, you will support the project team with advice and help.

You will develop strategies for negotiations with the customer, contract interpretations, and enforcement of additional claims. Sometimes small details become decisive arguments to enforce large claims.

• The result counts – make projects commercially successful
• Deployment in the entire Mobility area, focus on risk projects
• Developing strategies – preventive anti-claim management and contractual crisis management
• Enforcing additional claims, negotiating with contract partners
• Training project teams in creating additional claims, objections, and hindrance notices
• Determining risks and opportunities when preparing offers in collaboration with offer teams
• Analyzing negotiation results
• Contributing to the creation of standards by developing processes in contract and additional claim management

First and foremost, you share our passion for improving the quality of life and for the satisfaction of our clients. You are technically proficient, have initial experience in the project management of infrastructure projects, and bring:

• A completed degree in architecture, civil engineering, construction management engineering, or a comparable qualification
• At least 20 years of professional experience
• Preferred titles as an expert/appraiser for the fees of architects and engineers (HOAI)
• In-depth knowledge of the German construction industry, especially infrastructure projects in the area of the German Railway or road construction authorities
• Professional experience in the creation, enforcement, and/or defense of architect- or engineer-related additional claims (HOAI, AHO)
• High negotiating skills
• Responsibility for risk projects
• In-depth entrepreneurial and contractual thinking and action
• Diplomatic skills and professional appearance
• Negotiating-safe German and good English language skills
• Willingness to travel, if required by the project/business
