Guided Search Partners is an Executive Search firm built on Trust, Transparency, Specialization, and Long-term Relationships.
We connect high-performing professionals with organizations that value people, performance, and growth - helping leaders find roles where they can make an impact and build meaningful careers.
About the OpportunityWe’re supporting a confidential search for a Controller with a growing government contracting organization. This is a strong opportunity for a finance and accounting leader who brings deep government contracting experience, strong Deltek Costpoint knowledge, and the ability to build structure in a small, fast-moving environment. The role will serve as a central finance resource, supporting accounting operations, contract financials, forecasting, reporting, compliance, audits, payroll oversight, and process improvement.
The right person will be a self-starter who can work independently, manage multiple priorities, and help strengthen the financial foundation of a growing business. This is a fit for someone who enjoys ownership, team collaboration, and the chance to improve systems rather than simply maintain them.
You’ll lead and support financial operations across government contracting, accounting, ERP systems, payroll oversight, audits, and contract financial management.
- Manage financial operations within Deltek Costpoint
- Support accounting, reporting, forecasting, and cost tracking
- Manage direct and indirect cost pools
- Support AP, AR, invoicing, and funds reconciliation
- Prepare financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and cost reports
- Conduct monthly variance analysis and profitability summaries
- Ensure appropriate indirect rate allocation, billing, revenue recognition, and contract closeout activity
- Support internal and external audits, including government compliance-related audits
- Oversee payroll-related activity, PTO accruals, and tax-related matters
- Support financial proposal development, including pricing and cost-volume activity
- Review contract awards, task orders, delivery orders, modifications, and related documentation
- Monitor obligation rates, funding activity, and reporting requirements
- Support monthly invoicing, status reporting, and contract deliverables
- Train team members on Deltek and financial processes
- Create and improve financial policies, SOPs, and department structure
You are an experienced finance professional who understands government contracting and can bring both accuracy and structure to the financial side of the business.
You are comfortable working in a smaller team where people wear multiple hats and move quickly. You do not need heavy management to stay organized, meet deadlines, and keep work moving.
You would do well here if you are detail-oriented, practical, collaborative, and confident working with Deltek Costpoint, federal contracting requirements, and financial operations that support growth.
