Medical Secretary —
Schedule:
Monday, Tuesday, Friday 8am-4:30pm;
Wednesday, Thursday 8:30am-3pm.
We are seeking new and experienced Medical Secretaries to join our team.

- Answer telephone calls, handle routine inquiries, and refer non-routine matters to appropriate persons. Obtain, complete and follow up on all necessary paperwork in an accurate and timely manner. Maintain records and ensure documentation is scanned into patient records.
- Schedule patient appointments and tests, coordinating with appropriate personnel as necessary. Schedule return visit appointments as appropriate to ensure smooth functioning.
- Assist team with all facets of preparing for patient visits or processing post-visit documentation. Assure completion of Consent to Treat, HIPAA and other forms as appropriate.
- Maintain electronic patient charts. Organize and prepare the necessary information, reports, records and correspondence before the patient arrives for the appointment.
- Obtain necessary registration information on patients, collect co-pays, and secure referral forms and authorizations to forward to billing.
Under the supervision of the Manager, assists in clerical support functions, maintains departmental records and files, prepares documents and correspondence, organizes inventory of office supplies and forms, and designs forms and reports. Assists with chart documentation and patient scheduling, registration, and insurance verifications, including obtaining authorization and/or referrals for appointments. Education & Training:
High school diploma or equivalency; AA degree in Business or healthcare administration preferred.
Work Experience:
2-3 years in a medical office or related setting with computer experience; general knowledge of medical terminology; prior experience with insurance verification and scheduling required. EMR experience preferred.

- Must have either one (1) year of previous customer service experience or completed an accredited or approved Administrative Assistant program within the last 12 months
- Previous healthcare or medical office experience is preferred
