Job Title
Network Administrator (Senior-Level) – Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD
Job DescriptionLink Solutions is seeking a Senior-Level Network Administrator to support the Army Research Laboratory in Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD. The role involves maintaining enterprise network architecture, Layer 2/3 switching, routing protocols, and network security in accordance with DoD and ARL IT policies.
Key Responsibilities- Manage network performance and proactively maintain security protocols.
- Configure, install, and maintain Layer 2/3 switches, routers, wireless access points, firewalls, encryption devices, and telecommunication systems.
- Troubleshoot complex network issues across a variety of devices and configurations.
- Implement and enforce information security procedures in compliance with organizational policies.
- Configure routing protocols, including OSPF and BGP, and manage both IPv4 and IPv6 based networks.
- Set up and manage IPSec tunnels, 802.1x, and 802.11 LAN/MAN environments.
- Define and enforce network policies, procedures, and performance standards.
- Train users in network operations and best practices.
- U.S. Citizen.
- Active DoW Top Secret Clearance.
- Ten (10+) years of relevant experience or BA/BS Degree with two (2+) years in an IT enterprise network engineering role.
- Five (5) years of Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) experience.
- DoD 8570/8140 Level II Security Certification (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CCNA Security, GICSP, GSEC, SSCP).
- Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification.
- Proven leadership in managing complex DoD network environments.
- Advanced knowledge of routing protocols (OSPF, BGP), security standards (802.1X, 802.11, MAC bridging), and media access control systems.
- Experience in network segmentation, traffic management, and secure network architecture design.
- In-depth knowledge of network monitoring tools, platforms, and documentation best practices.
- Ability to plan and implement large-scale network configurations and upgrades while minimizing downtime.
- ITIL v4 certification.
- Experience with incident management within Service Now ITSM platform.
- Familiarity with NIST, STIG, RMF, and Federal Information System Controls.
- Working knowledge of hardware configuration management tools and logistics tracking systems.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
- Experience creating and modifying documentation for technical procedures.
- Experience working in a DoD environment.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
USD 62,000 – USD 104,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications.
