Position: Lab Manager with Security Clearance
Location Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD (On-Site) Clearance Requirement:
Active Secret Clearance Required

Position Overview LCS Defense is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Lab Manager / Secure Lab Operations Specialist to support secure laboratory environments and technology development activities in Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland. The selected candidate will be responsible for maintaining secure laboratory operations, inventory accountability, access control compliance, equipment tracking, facility readiness, and day-to-day support of engineering and technical teams operating in a controlled government environment.

This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while supporting security, compliance, and operational requirements. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting secure facilities, managing equipment inventories, coordinating lab operations, and ensuring compliance with government security procedures.

Key Responsibilities Secure Lab Operations
Maintain secure laboratory environments, ensuring cleanliness, organization, and operational readiness.
Open and close laboratory spaces in accordance with established security procedures.
Coordinate workspace setup, furniture requirements, equipment placement, and operational readiness activities.
Conduct routine walkthroughs and inspections to maintain compliance with facility requirements. nventory & Asset Management
Track and manage laboratory equipment, laptops, peripherals, hardware, and other sensitive assets.
Maintain accurate inventory records, hand receipts, and asset accountability documentation.
Coordinate receipt, storage, issuance, transfer, and turn-in of Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) and laboratory assets.
Support lifecycle management of equipment, including check-in/check-out processes and disposition activities.
Work closely with property book personnel to ensure accurate accountability and tracking. Security & Compliance
Maintain facility access control lists and assist with granting and revoking access permissions.
Track and maintain DD2875 records and user network access documentation.
Support SF 701 and SF 702 compliance requirements for facilities, safes, and visitor management.
Conduct and document security inspections and compliance reviews.
Support destruction runs, safe turn-ins, decommissioning activities, and secure disposal procedures.
Ensure compliance with government security policies and controlled facility requirements. Training & Administrative Support
Coordinate required training completion for laboratory personnel.
Assist with onboarding activities and provide lab orientation briefings.
Maintain training records and compliance documentation.
Support visitor access procedures and ensure required documentation is completed.
Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and operational documentation. Operational Support
Collaborate with engineering, cybersecurity, security, logistics, and administrative personnel to support mission requirements.
Identify and resolve equipment, inventory, or facility issues affecting laboratory operations.
Support technical teams by ensuring resources, equipment, and work spaces remain operational and available.

Required Qualifications
Active Secret Security Clearance.
High School Diploma required;
Associate’s degree preferred.
2+ years of experience supporting laboratory operations, inventory management, secure facilities, logistics, property accountability, or related operational support functions.
Experience maintaining inventory records, hand receipts, or asset accountability systems.
Experience working in secure government, military, defense, or controlled-access environments.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. Desired Qualifications
Experience supporting Department of Defense or federal government programs.
Familiarity with DD2875, SF 701, SF 702, visitor control procedures, and access management processes.
Experience supporting engineering labs, test environments, or research facilities.
Knowledge of secure facility operations and compliance requirements.
Experience coordinating equipment lifecycle management activities.
Technical or mechanical aptitude supporting hardware, equipment, or laboratory operations. Preferred Certifications
