Webstaurant Store is looking for a Maintenance Technician to oversee the preventative maintenance, repair, and upkeep of the warehouse building and material handling equipment, including conveyor belts, forklift equipment, and racking. This role coordinates repairs & services with external vendors, supports overall operational improvements, maintains a clean work environment, communicates equipment status to management, and tracks maintenance costs.

Base Pay Range

$28.00/hr – $28.00/hr

Responsibilities

• Assist in the repair of warehouse equipment, such as conveyor belts and forklifts, and the periodic movement, upkeep, and replacement of racking.
• Communicate with outside vendors regarding warranty issues or necessary repairs beyond the technician's certification level.
• Ensure all equipment batteries are watered and maintained per manufacturer recommended intervals.
• Support a variety of maintenance projects, operational improvements, and scheduled preventative maintenance on assets and equipment.
• Promote efficiency of the warehouse yard, including upkeep and disposal of pallets/skids.
• Operate various pieces of equipment, including forklifts and floor scrubbers.
• Report any forklift issues to leadership promptly to ensure issue resolution, maximize uptime, and maintain a safe work environment.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment, abiding by safety protocols such as LOTO, wearing PPE, etc.
• Maintain a log of all preventative and corrective maintenance using internal systems.
• Make recommendations for repair, rebuild, and replacement of key components and equipment as needed.
• Meet performance standards regarding efficiency, accuracy, and quality of work.
• Work closely with team members and leadership to meet daily, weekly, and monthly departmental goals.
• Abide by all company and warehouse policies.
• Flex into other positions and departments and undertake additional duties as needed.

Physical Requirements

• Work while standing and/or walking up to 12 hours/day.
• Effective communication using speech, vision, and hearing.
• Regular use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations.
• Regular bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, and reaching.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull medium weights, up to 75 lbs.

Experience

• Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in a distribution environment; maintenance experience and forklift certification preferred but not required.

Education

This role does not require a degree.

The work environment involves regular exposure to moving mechanical parts and vehicles, occasional changes in temperature and humidity, and exposure to dust, fumes, gases. Noise level is moderate. Employees regularly pass through the area.
