Munchie Operator / Industrial Sanitor
The Munchies Operator / Industrial Sanitor is responsible for performing Munchies processing operations and industrial sanitation duties in a safe, efficient, and environmentally responsible manner. The employee will be responsible for operating Munchies processing equipment, supporting material handling and inventory activities, and cleaning and sanitizing to ensure compliance with food safety, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and company standards.
This position requires effective communication, self-direction, strong time management, organizational skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Work is performed in a loud manufacturing environment with limited heating and air conditioning and may involve exposure to extreme temperatures, humidity, chemicals, hot water, heavy equipment, heights, and slippery surfaces.
The employee will be required to wear protective equipment and access confined or difficult-to-reach areas using approved methods and equipment.
Responsibilities Include
- Operate Munchies processing equipment safely and efficiently.
- Perform simple troubleshooting tasks and communicate equipment or process issues as needed.
- Operate tote stations and perform related material handling activities.
- Operate a forklift to unload and load totes, cartons, and other materials.
- Unload bulk raw materials, cartons, roll stock, and minor ingredients.
- Distribute cartons and other materials to designated areas.
- Set up and break down corrugated totes.
- Track inventory and reconcile discrepancies using the Inventory Control System (ICS).
- Perform daily tasks efficiently using appropriate computer tools and software.
- Maintain housekeeping levels in compliance with GMPs and food safety standards.
- Identify opportunities for improvement and make improvements when appropriate.
- Operate the baler and collect and bale waste cardboard.
- Complete required reports, paperwork, and documentation accurately and timely.
- Participate in team meetings and other site activities as required.
- Perform utility work and other duties as assigned.
- Maintain a high degree of dedication to safety, food safety, quality, and environmental stewardship.
- Clean and sanitize processing and packaging equipment and production lines in accordance with established procedures.
- Clean and sanitize metal conveyors, machinery, processing equipment, and other food-contact and non-food-contact surfaces.
- Use cleaning chemicals, sanitizing agents, hot water, and other approved cleaning materials in accordance with safety procedures.
- Perform sanitation activities necessary to maintain food safety, GMP, and regulatory compliance.
- Clean and maintain buildings, production areas, and outside grounds as assigned.
- Access equipment and areas requiring climbing, bending, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crawling, and stretching.
- Work at heights using ladders, lifts, or other approved equipment as required.
- Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including protective gear required for sanitation activities.
- Follow all chemical handling, lockout/tagout, safety, food safety, and sanitation procedures.
- Identify and communicate sanitation, safety, equipment, or food safety concerns to the appropriate leader.
- Complete required sanitation documentation and reporting accurately and timely.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary work environment.
We are open 24 hours a day, which means you may not have a typical schedule. As a Full-Time General Utility Tech, you would work between 40-50 hours per week and weekends or holidays may be required.
It's a physical job! If you have never worked in a warehouse or manufacturing environment before, you should understand that you will be on your feet the entirety of your shift. General Utility Techs are expected to stay on the line until relieved for break. We're seeking individuals who are flexible, committed, and safety-focused. - You can stand and walk for extended periods of time with or without a reasonable accommodation
