Research Technician – Secret Clearance | Aberdeen, MD

Insight Global is partnering with a federal research program in Aberdeen, MD, and we’re looking for a Research Technician who’s excited to support meaningful, hands‑on scientific work in a collaborative lab environment. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with animal models, contributing to high‑impact research, and being part of a mission‑driven team.

• Support daily research activities including animal care, movement, feeding, behavioral training, and assisting with surgical and veterinary procedures.
• Collect and process biological samples and help execute a wide range of experimental protocols.
• Maintain and calibrate specialized lab and behavioral equipment to ensure smooth, accurate research operations.
• Document experimental methods and results through reports, figures, and slide summaries.
• Assist with biochemical, pharmacological, physiological, and behavioral studies across multiple species.
• Analyze experimental data using both custom and commercial software tools.
• Perform aseptic maintenance of vascular access ports and support surgical procedures on NHPs.
• Conduct necropsies, tissue collection, and proper handling of specimens.
• Support solubility studies, monitor animal health and behavior, and record findings in real time.

• Bachelor’s degree plus at least one year of hands‑on lab experience.
• Background in pharmacology or neuroscience, especially as it relates to medical defense research.
• Experience working with animal use protocols; NHP experience is a strong plus.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to adapt quickly to new projects and research priorities.
• Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, mission‑focused laboratory environment.
• Operant in vivo behavioral training or testing.
