Software Development
AI Engineer (Applied/Software), Software Architect, Full Stack Developer
Why This Role Exists
While traditional lead roles focus on manual coding, this position emphasizes defining high-level specifications, conventions, and reviews that enable AI agents and your team to create top-quality iOS code together. You maintain full responsibility for the code and architecture, but your primary influence comes from developing the specific conditions and guidelines under which the AI can reliably deliver. Your core mission is to treat the development process as a product, diagnose where agents fail, and close these gaps through superior prompts, tooling, and system design.
WhatAwaits You With Us
You continuously define and develop our iOS standards, establishing coding conventions, architecture patterns, and quality gates that AI agents can consistently follow—and fail conspicuously when they don’t. You manage the iOS branch of our “agent factory,” overseeing agent runs, diagnosing error modes, and making direct corrections in prompts, conventions, tooling, and the specification level. In close collaboration with our product team, you write the iOS specifications and ticket templates needed to produce agent-ready work.
You review agent-generated pull requests against our architecture and quality standards, intervening when an agent stalls. You take full responsibility for the quality, stability, and release outcomes of the iOS app—including managing crashlytics, performance, and release processes—regardless of whether the code is written by a human or an agent. You actively shape the iOS codebase to be AI-friendly by enforcing modular boundaries, ensuring deterministic tests, maintaining machine-readable documentation, and designing clear interfaces.
As a leader and mentor for the iOS team, you share your knowledge, conduct code reviews, and help the team maximize its potential in working with AI agents and tools. You drive the technical decisions for our fully native Swift development, working entirely free from legacy code and enjoying full autonomy over your tools and approach.
You bring more than five years of experience as a senior or lead iOS developer, including proven success in leading teams to produce real, scalable products. You have demonstrable, hands-on production experience with AI-assisted development tools. You have strong, well-founded views on what makes a codebase accessible for AI-assisted development, supported by the architectural acumen to implement these ideas. You have a proven track record of making critical technical decisions, designing robust architectures, and successfully leading teams through their implementation.
You possess excellent technical writing skills in English, which is crucial since our specifications and conventions are a core part of the product and are written by you. You show independence, initiative, and a strong preference for shipping over endlessly polishing. You are willing to work 1–2 days per week in our Hamburg office.
You have the opportunity to grow in a dynamic industry within a growing company, shaping the future and continuously developing yourself. From day one, you take responsibility and benefit from our fast, decisive decision-making to actively participate. You are part of a vibrant culture where “we” matters. Whether in our modern Hamburg office or at our regular team events, you will find colleagues who are passionate about making a difference together while keeping the fun alive.
You work flexibly and autonomously. With flexible working hours, 30 days of vacation, and the freedom to choose between remote and office work, you set the pace for your life. You benefit from a package that values your performance. In addition to competitive pay, we offer benefits that matter and an environment where you can feel good and develop long-term.
