Overview

ACI is a Woman‑Owned Small Business professional services provider of engineering and technical services to the United States Government. We are seeking an experienced Software Engineer to support the Network Operations Automation Prototyping (NOAP) program at Aberdeen Proving Grounds, MD. Compensation ranges from $86,000 to $150,000 per year.

Duties and Responsibilities

Build high‑quality, innovative, and fully performing software in compliance with coding standards and technical design.
Design, modify, develop, write, and implement software programming applications.
Support or install software applications/operating systems. Participate in the testing process through test review and analysis, test witnessing, and certification of software.
Serve as a subject matter expert for all computer and software related aspects assigned to the program.
Design and implement software solutions for back‑end and front‑end development for interactive web/mobile applications.
Perform engineering and scientific work involving the design, development, and operation of man‑portable computer systems, including hardware and software, and their integration with other systems and peripherals.

Required Qualifications

Must be a U.S. Citizen.
Due to the sensitive nature of the work, a candidate must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
High school diploma and 10 years of experience, OR associate’s degree and 7 years of experience, OR bachelor’s degree and 3 years of relevant experience, OR master’s degree and 1 year of experience.
Experience in software development and all phases of the software development life cycle.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Agile framework and ability to apply best practices using industry standards.
Understanding of TCP/IP and UDP/Multicast networking.
5+ years of Software Development or Systems Engineering in a professional environment.
Proficiency in Java, C++, or Python development.
Experience with JavaScript and web development.
Source code control with Git.
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills and demonstrated experience working with stakeholders and development teams.
Strong communication skills, both orally and in writing, to convey development strategy and integration activities.
Experience developing, maintaining, and contributing to technical documentation.
Ability to travel to customer locations and support customer engagement locations.
