Manufacturing Engineer, Quality Engineering, CNC Machinist
We are seeking a CNC Milling Process Technician to support the programming, setup, and production of precision‑machined components using vertical and horizontal CNC milling machines. This role is responsible for developing efficient machining processes, designing fixtures, supporting production, and ensuring consistent quality from RFQ review through full production. Relocation assistance available.
This position is ideal for a hands‑on CNC professional who enjoys process ownership, problem‑solving, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities- Review engineering drawings during the RFQ phase to determine machining approach, tooling, fixturing, inspection needs, and cycle times
- Program and support CNC vertical and horizontal milling machines for new and existing parts
- Design and build milling fixtures to support repeatable production
- Establish and maintain setup times, routings, and cycle time standards
- Support continuous improvement efforts to improve efficiency, quality, and throughput
- Verify part quality using inspection equipment such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, CMMs, and vision systems
- Perform machine setups and machining as needed, or transition setups to production operators
- Train and assist setup technicians and machine operators
- Complete required production documentation and system entries
- Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- 3‑5 years of experience with CNC vertical and horizontal milling machines
- CNC programming experience in a milling environment
- Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and GD&T
- Experience designing and building milling fixtures
- Working knowledge of Fanuc controls
- Experience with Gibbs
CAM or similar CAM software - Proficient using precision measuring tools (CMM, vision systems, calipers, micrometers, bore gauges)
- Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and solve machining‑related problems
- Ability to perform setups within routing times and continuously improve setup efficiency
- Technical degree, certification, or equivalent hands‑on machining experience
- Experience transitioning new parts from quote to production
- Continuous improvement or process development experience
