Job Description:

Avera Saint Luke's Hospital in Aberdeen, SD is seeking an experienced and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join their Labor and Delivery unit. This is a contract position with 36 guaranteed hours per week, working 3x12 hour shifts on the night shift. The assignment is expected to last 13 weeks, with an ASAP start.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive nursing care for patients in labor and delivery.
• Assess, monitor, and support patients throughout labor, delivery, and post-delivery.
• Collaborate with obstetricians, neonatologists, and other medical staff to ensure the best patient care.
• Administer medications, monitor fetal and maternal health, and assist with labor and birth processes.
• Maintain accurate patient records and communicate effectively with families and healthcare teams.
• Ensure that all required certifications and competencies are maintained throughout the assignment.

• License/Certification:
  • Current RN license in the state of South Dakota (or Compact State License).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
  • AWHONN (Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses) certification.
• Experience:
  • Minimum of 1 year of recent Labor and Delivery RN experience required.
  • Experience working with high-risk pregnancies and labor support is preferred.
  • Strong communication and clinical assessment skills.
