What You Will Do- Obtains weather briefing and prepares flight plan(s) considering such factors as altitude to be flown, terrain and/or obstacles, weather, fuel load and airport facilities.
- Ensures that all flight operations are conducted safely and in compliance with all FAR'S, Operations Specifications, and Avera's policies/procedures.
- Ensures that all Check List items are complied with according to the AFM.
- Consults with Leader of Operations in solving operational problems and procedures.
- Responsible and accountable for the ongoing operations of the flight program in compliance with established safety/quality standards, goals and objectives.
- Coordinates with the Leader of Maintenance the timely correction of mechanical irregularities and discrepancies and scheduled maintenance.
- Responds to flight requests within the guidelines of the flight program and assists crew with loading and unloading.
- Assists with monthly program meetings and training.
- Maintains a good working knowledge of the company Operations Manual, Federal Aviation Regulations, Operations Specifications, Aircraft Flight Manual, and any other requirements pertinent to specific flights and operations conducted by Care flight.
- All Care flight personnel are responsible for maintaining physical health and proper weight, not to exceed 240 pounds.
- Commercial Pilot
- Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Required to have and maintain a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Commercial Certificate and instrument rating Upon Hire or - Airline Transport Pilot License
- Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate valid for Rotorcraft Category, Helicopter Class Upon Hire and - FAA Medical Class
- Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Current First or Second Class FAA Medical Certificate Upon Hire - 1500 total flight hours 1200 hours must be in helicopters. 1000 hours must be Pilot in Command rotorcraft hours.
- 100 unaided night hours or 50 hours unaided, with 100 aided night hours 500 hours of turbine time.

- An Airline Transport Pilot rating
