Bus Driver (2026 - 2027 School Year) Part-time OR Full-time

Role Overview

The Bus Driver is responsible for safely transporting children to and from the Head Start Center, ensuring their safety through adherence to safety guidelines, proper vehicle maintenance, and attentive supervision. They work closely with families, promoting involvement and respecting cultural differences, while also collaborating with staff and attending training sessions.

• Transport children safely, enforce safety rules, and accompany children during pick-up and drop-off.
• Engage with families to foster positive relationships and address concerns.
• Maintain and inspect the vehicle, keep accurate logs, and ensure cleanliness.
• Participate in classroom activities, staff meetings, and training programs.
• Serve as a community representative by connecting families with local resources.

• High school diploma or equivalent; commercial driver's license with School Bus Endorsement required.
• Good driving record, background and driving checks, and physical fitness for lifting and sitting for extended periods.
• Proficiency in Microsoft 365 programs and commitment to safety standards.
• Ability to relate positively with children, families, and community members, and maintain current certifications in CPR and First Aid.

The role includes classroom participation, record-keeping, vehicle maintenance, community engagement, and ongoing professional development, all performed under supervision and in alignment with Head Start policies.
