The Post holder must have a degree or diploma in a discipline relating to land-based studies, ideally with a focus on horticulture. Alternatively, a clear demonstration of existing course work in horticultural studies, along with a demonstrative career path in gardening. A broad range of experience over a number of seasons working in various flora-based environments is beneficial. A good understanding and experience of manual handling is necessary.

The successful candidate will also hold a valid UK driver's licence.

Additionally, they must be able to interact positively with University staff, garden volunteers, students and visitors to the garden and have good communication skills, while at all times be reliable and conscientious.

Salary will be at the appropriate point on Grade 3, £27,096 - £28,478 per annum with placement according to qualifications and experience.
