Location: Aberdeen City
Maintenance Electrician
Band 5 – 36 Hours per week – Permanent – Aberdeen Royal Infirmary / NHSG Sites.
An opportunity has arisen for a Maintenance Electrician to join the team based on the Foresterhill Site in Aberdeen (may also be required to undertake duties across other areas of NHS Grampians estate).
Key Responsibilities- Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on a wide range of plant and equipment.
- Perform maintenance on HVAC, motor control circuits, motors, fans, control panels, distribution systems, lighting, catering equipment and portable electrical appliances.
- Use electrical test equipment such as insulation resistance testers and multimeters.
- Participate in a 24‑hour on‑call rota.
- Completed a recognised apprenticeship in Electrical Engineering.
- Experience as a Maintenance Electrician working on HVAC, motor control circuits, motors, fans, control panels, distribution systems, lighting, catering equipment and portable electrical appliances.
- Experience with electrical test equipment such as insulation resistance testers and multimeters.
- Good understanding of electrical safety and compliance.
- Current full driving licence.
- An Electrical Gold Card would be beneficial, though applicants without this will be considered.
- Participation in a 24-hour on‑call rota is required.
- Policy of reducing from 37 to 36 hours per week with a corresponding increase in hourly rate as of 1/4/26.
