Lift Service Engineer (Aberdeenshire)
We are looking to recruit for a Lift Service Engineer to work as part of the local team based in Aberdeenshire, supporting our customer communications and management team. The successful candidate will carry out planned preventative maintenance regimes as determined by the contract terms on portfolio lift equipment.
Your main responsibilities- Carry out routine servicing of lift equipment, including minor repair work and routine replacement of components in accordance with approved company procedures (PPE, PDA, 2+ etc.)
- Rectify and reduce faults on lift equipment in cases of breakdown and check to confirm correct functioning.
- Conduct checks on speed, motor start/stop, noise, temperature and power supply using approved company‑issued tooling and protective equipment.
- Carry out routine inspection and adjustment of installations in accordance with approved procedures, reinstate lift and complete service documentation.
- Perform fault finding and diagnostic procedures using a range of techniques, technical manuals and appropriate test equipment to restore equipment to service.
- Demonstrate competence in making effective use of written or graphical information.
- Experience in lift servicing, maintenance, or repairs (preferred).
- Qualified to NVQ Level 3 minimum in lift maintenance or equivalent.
- Advanced electrical and mechanical knowledge, including multi‑brand equipment.
- Advanced problem‑solving skills.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and operate within efficiency targets.
- Ability to work independently with a flexible approach.
- Manual dexterity – capable of using hands, arms and feet for repetitive lifting and operating hand and power tools, as well as recording written information.
- Proven fault‑finding and diagnostic skills.
