Diesel Engine Mechanic

Aberdeen

(circa £29,000 - £30,000 DOE)

37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 4:00pm

On-Call:
Participation in an on-call rota after training

KBM Resourcing are working with one of our a well-established clients to recruit a Mechanical Assistant to join their workshop team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on mechanical candidate looking to develop their skills within a busy operational environment. Reporting to the Mechanical Supervisor, you will support the maintenance, servicing and repair of a wide range of mechanical equipment while ensuring high standards of safety, quality and customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Service, maintain and repair mechanical equipment, including diesel-powered systems.
  • Assist with the repair and maintenance of pumps and associated equipment.
  • Support equipment preparation and inspections for offshore mobilisation.
  • Complete maintenance records, certification and related documentation accurately.
  • Assist with workshop operations, equipment loading and inventory management.
  • Support procurement activities and stores management.
  • Maintain high housekeeping standards within the workshop.
  • Participate in daily toolbox talks and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Work in accordance with company HSEQ policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Previous experience in equipment maintenance and servicing.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with experience working on diesel engines essential.
  • Experience of pressure testing, valves and fittings.
  • Practical, hands-on approach with excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication and organisational skills.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Forklift certification would be advantageous but is not essential.
