6.5 hours per day - 184 days (2 before and 2 after school)
Position Summary:
Provide accessible, consistent support and case management to students including academic advising, career guidance, employment assistance or referrals to district and community resources.
Primary Responsibilities/Duties:
* Meet with students and families and compile documentation to determine eligibility for the Open Doors program
* Develop, implement and monitor student plans for learning and other services
* Engage students in tutoring, mentoring, college and career development services for the purpose of obtaining a high school diploma, GED certificate, college credential or skills certificate.
* Monitor progress of and meet regularly with students in accordance with state compliance requirements
* Collaborate with Open Doors staff to assist students in accessing necessary support services and workforce development activities for the purpose of supporting student participation and success
* Collaborate with Open Doors instructional staff to provide timely relevant communication about student progress
* Ensure required assessments are planned, implemented and completed for each student within required timelines
* Coordinate and partner with district programs and outside agencies for the purpose of assisting eligible students to gain access to needed services identified in the student plan
* Create and update marketing and informational resources including print resources and program webpage information
* Distribute and/or present materials to schools and families for the purpose of providing information on available programs/services
* Maintain records and files for the purpose of documenting activities and complying with federal, state and school system requirements
* Participate in meetings, committees and trainings as assigned for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform job responsibilities.

Qualifications:
Education/
Experience:
* High school diploma or equivalent.
* BA Degree in Education, Social Work, Counseling or related field is required OR at least two years of work experience providing case management, counseling, or related direct services to at-risk individuals or 16-21 year old youth
Certificates/Licenses:
* Current Washington State driver's license and good driving record.
* Access to reliable transportation.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
* Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with parents, staff, students and community.
* Ability to work cooperatively and successfully with all staff, students and community. Ability to work in a team environment.
* Ability to work flexible hours as assigned, maintains current knowledge in assigned field, and able to organize own time for work completion.
* Knowledge and experience working with community social services and resource agencies.
* Knowledge and understanding of state/federal laws and regulations regarding education and social services.
* Effective human relations and communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
* Good language, grammar and math skills.
* Computer skills or ability to learn word-processing and spreadsheet programs.
* Ability to collect data and set up and maintain accurate filing system.
* Ability to attend to detail and follow task through to completion.
* Ability to organize and set priorities.
* Ability to work effectively under pressure and be flexible to meet deadlines.
* Ability to maintain confidentiality.
* Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
* Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
* Ability to deal with problems working a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
* Experience working with families with low economic-status.
* Desired effective characteristics include: flexibility, enthusiasm, willingness to develop relationships and willingness to learn new skills.
* Willingness to make home visits.
