Responsible for providing professional nursing care to patients and families and communicating with physicians and other healthcare team members to deliver excellent patient care.
Responsibilities- Perform general nursing care to patients.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments according to nursing standards.
- Coordinate patient care activities for the clinic.
- Prepare equipment and assist providers during procedures, treatments, examinations, and testing.
- Observe, record, and report patient’s condition and reactions to drugs and treatments to the provider.
- Oversee appointment scheduling and prioritize patients in emergencies.
- Maintain timely flow of patients.
- Greets patients and prepares them for physical examination.
- Screen patients for appropriate information, including obtaining health history, taking vitals, and conducting a nursing assessment.
- Document information in patient chart.
- Instruct patients in sample collection and tests.
- Respond to patient phone calls promptly with the appropriate provider input.
- Educate patients and families about diagnostics, medications, nutrition, and health maintenance.
- Suggest solutions to patient care challenges and complaints.
- Maintain exam rooms with necessary supplies and materials, ensuring cleanliness.
- Prepare list of medical supplies needed for procedures.
- Ensure appropriate labeling of pathology specimens according to lab protocol.
- Perform quality control and maintain records on all lab testing.
The individual must be able to work the specified hours and perform each essential job function satisfactorily. This includes having visual acuity adequate for the duties and the ability to communicate effectively, hear, understand, and distinguish speech and other sounds.
Required Education, License/Certification, or Work ExperienceRegistered Nurse (RN) – Board of Nursing, active license in the state of practice.
