Job Title:
Registered Nurse - Medical-Surgical
Location: Aberdeen, WA
Duration: 13-Week Assignment (High Potential for Extension or Permanent Placement)
Shift: Night Shift (7:45 PM - 7:15 AM)
Schedule: 3x12-Hour Shifts
Compensation
Local Pay: $2,000 - $2,200 Weekly
Traveler Pay: $2,450 - $2,550 Weekly
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and adaptable Registered Nurse (RN) to join a Medical-Surgical unit within a busy acute care hospital setting. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive patient care to adult medical-surgical patients, collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, and demonstrate flexibility in supporting multiple clinical departments as needed. Responsibilities
- Provide direct bedside nursing care to adult Medical-Surgical patients.
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and ongoing monitoring.
- Administer medications, treatments, and therapeutic interventions in accordance with physician orders and nursing standards.
- Monitor patient responses to treatment plans and communicate changes in condition promptly.
- Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records documentation.
- Collaborate with physicians, case managers, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
- Assist with discharge planning and patient education.
- Float to other clinical departments as required based on operational needs.
- Adhere to hospital policies, patient safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Support quality improvement initiatives and evidence-based nursing practices.
- Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care while promoting positive patient outcomes.
Education
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (ADN or BSN required).
- Active Washington State Registered Nurse (RN) License or valid Multi-State Compact License.
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification.
- Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) Certification.
- Current NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) Certification.
- Nursys license verification required.
- Minimum three (3) years of recent acute care Medical-Surgical nursing experience required.
- Experience working in a hospital setting required.
- Previous float pool or multi-unit experience preferred.
- Strong clinical assessment and critical-thinking abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency with electronic medical record systems.
- Ability to work effectively within interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Flexibility and adaptability to float between departments as needed.
