Critical Care Nurse (ICU/CCU)
We are seeking a dedicated Critical Care Nurse (ICU/CCU) to provide individualized nursing care to patients, employing scientific nursing principles in practice. This position entails a critical role in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care plans in collaboration with the health care team.
Responsibilities- Consult and coordinate with health care team members to develop and evaluate patient care plans.
- Prepare and administer prescribed medications (orally, subcutaneously, IV) and accurately document administrations.
- Report adverse reactions to medications or treatments as per institutional protocols.
- Provide basic bedside care and support to patients.
- Initiate and implement patient education plans, guiding patients and families in managing illnesses and injuries, including post-treatment home care and medication administration.
- Record patient medical information and vital signs accurately and in a timely manner.
- Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to assess patient conditions.
- Collect samples for lab work and interpret results from laboratory reports.
- Prepare equipment and assist physicians during examinations and treatments.
- Respond to life-saving situations based on nursing standards and protocols.
- Document all care information concisely and completely in designated formats.
- Apply hemodynamic, phlebotomy, and IV protocols as required.
- Monitor and adjust specialized equipment used on patients, including interpreting electronic displays related to hemodynamic status.
- Ensure proper placement and functioning of monitoring devices, catheters, leads, and tubing.
- Initiate corrective actions based on monitoring equipment indicators showing adverse symptoms.
- Valid BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association.
- A valid professional nursing license in the state of practice or through nurse licensure compact.
- Completion of verification requirements for compact licenses, including suicide training and demographic verification via Nursys e-Notify.
- Proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
- Experience providing critical care in a hospital setting is required.
