About the Position
NAPA is a Parts Store and So much more! We are driven to have the best people on our team to get the right parts to the right place at the right time. The Parts Professional provides prompt and courteous service to all customers over the telephone, in the store, or in the dealer’s shop.
Responsibilities- Look up parts application in catalogs or POS system.
- Process orders for customers with high accuracy, efficiency, and courtesy.
- Assist and advise customers on how to best meet their needs, often dealing with highly technical questions and problems.
- Exhibit thorough knowledge of products, performance standards, warranties, sales programs, and operating policies.
- Serve as a resource for advice to other store personnel.
- Implement appropriate sales practices such as greeting customers, demonstrating product knowledge, and quickly understanding customer needs.
- Maintain customer satisfaction by securing the right part and resolving issues.
- Demonstrate a professional attitude, conduct, and appearance.
- Maintain POS computer skills and understand store pricing methods.
- Process salespersons’ stock orders and report overages, shortages, or damaged merchandise.
- Ensure good appearance of store and displays.
- Participate in training as needed and required.
- Perform any other tasks as assigned by management.
- High School Diploma, or equivalent, required.
- Establish and maintain good relations with customers by providing courteous, efficient, and professional service.
- Be functionally literate and capable of understanding part numbers and line codes.
- Demonstrate excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Enjoy working with people in a fast‑paced setting; remain calm under pressure.
- Be ASE Parts Specialist (automotive) certified.
- Have a working knowledge of the area the store services and be able to operate a vehicle with manual transmission.
- Work retail hours at any store location as assigned by management.
- Capability of operating the TAMS point‑of‑sale system and cataloging.
- Ability to use the adding machine and process cash, check, and credit card transactions.
- Visually capable of recognizing and distinguishing letters and numbers and remembering sequencing.
- Work on feet (stand and walk) for an entire shift.
- Capable of lifting and moving parts and boxes up to 60 pounds.
- Repeatedly bend or stoop to floor‑level shelves and reach upper shelves (ten feet) with stool or ladder as needed.
- Move engine blocks, core barrels, and other heavy equipment using hand trucks, barrel dollies, hydraulic lifts, or other moving aids.
- Starting hourly rate of $20.50, with pay progression and the opportunity to reach the top of the range within 12 months.
