This is a full-time Refrigeration Engineer role based in Ellon, offered on a hybrid basis with some work from home acceptable for planning, documentation, and remote support tasks. The Refrigeration Engineer will carry out installation, maintenance, and repair of industrial and commercial refrigeration systems, including site visits across North East Scotland. Day-to-day responsibilities include diagnosing system faults, performing preventive maintenance, commissioning new equipment, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards.
The role involves working with mechanical and CO2-based systems, completing service reports, and coordinating with the office team to schedule and prioritize work. The engineer will interact directly with customers, provide technical advice, and help maintain strong client relationships through clear communication and reliable service.
- Solid hands-on experience in Maintenance & Repair of industrial and commercial refrigeration systems.
- Knowledge of CO2 refrigeration systems and related safety and environmental considerations.
- Background in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related technical discipline.
- Experience with Preventive Maintenance planning, execution, and documentation.
- Strong Customer Service skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and build trust on-site and remotely.
- Relevant technical certifications or apprenticeship in refrigeration or HVAC (F-Gas, City & Guilds, or equivalent) are highly beneficial.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and manufacturer documentation.
- Comfort working independently and as part of a team, with a focus on safety, accuracy, and attention to detail.
- Valid UK driving licence and willingness to travel to customer sites within North East Scotland.
