MET Technician

We are recruiting on behalf of our client, a prominent automotive accident repair group operating across South Wales and England, to find a skilled MET Technician for their newly established Abergavenny bodyshop.

• Removing damaged parts to facilitate repairs
• Safely storing displaced parts for refitting
• Identifying and reporting any additional damage or parts required
• Ensuring all parts are correct to maintain smooth workflow throughout the repair process
• Refit and carefully reassemble vehicles post-repair, ensuring panel gaps and alignments meet manufacturer standards
• Replacing mechanical components such as steering, drivetrain, and engine parts as required
• Adhering to health and safety legislation and internal procedures
• Maintaining tools and equipment in good condition
• Participating in regular safety training and team meetings
• Supporting colleagues and managing workload efficiently to meet deadlines
• Requirements of a MET Technician:
• Recognised qualification in automotive MET/vehicle body repair, or working towards an IMI qualification; individuals with extensive experience or no formal qualifications but a strong track record in body repair/strip and fit are also encouraged
• Strong ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines
• Ability to interpret and follow work instructions on job cards to ensure manufacturer and company standards
• Good organisational skills to prioritise workload effectively
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
