ABC Lead Teacher Position
Job Classification: Classified, part-time, maximum of 3 hours on program dates, $20 per hour.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 18 years of age.
- Teacher license preferred but not required.
- Ability to be self-directed and prioritize tasks.
- Excellent organizational and planning skills.
- Student centered.
- Demonstrated success in working with students.
- Excellent collaborative/teaming skills.
- Energetic, creative, innovative, flexible.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Desire to continue to enhance skills and job performance.
- Plan developmentally appropriate activities to support academic, emotional, social, and physical needs of each child.
- Plan daily play based academic activities for reading and math.
- Plan daily movement activities for gross motor development.
- Plan daily social-emotional activities.
- Plan weekly enrichment activities in accordance with program objectives and grant requirements.
- Submit weekly plans to the site coordinator and program director.
- Maintain records on student progress, attendance, snack participation and schedules.
- Submit weekly records to the site coordinator and program director.
- Communicate with and work alongside community partners and other lead teachers in development of programming.
- Develop positive relationships with parents through regular communication and family engagement opportunities.
- Supervise general program staff, organize schedules, and provide guidance on program expectations.
- Ability to plan and prepare for after school activities.
- Ability to guide planned activities with detailed directions and safe use of supplies.
- Ability to assist with reading and storytelling.
- Ability to assist students with noninstructional classroom duties, such as snack, toilet, and clothing.
- Ability to work with and supervise program staff and groups of students using WMS framework.
- Ability to compassionately assist individual children or staff in need of special attention.
- Ability to maintain professional composure and tone during all interactions and communication.
- Ability to respond to information requests in a cooperative, courteous, and timely manner.
- Ability to perform clerical duties as required.
- Ability to contact and coordinate enrichment activities with community partners.
- Ability to plan and prepare for family engagement activities with other lead teachers.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding student and program personnel information.
- Ability to always observe and follow all school district policies.
- Ability to implement and follow all district health and safety policies including precautions of blood borne pathogens.
- Ability to perform other tasks and assume other responsibilities as directed by the Principal/Site Coordinator or Program Director.
Environmental Conditions:
- Requires stooping, bending, kneeling, turning, and reaching.
- Requires prolonged sitting or standing.
- Must be able to move and organize supplies that require ability to life up to 30 pounds.
- Must occasionally work in noisy and crowded environments, with numerous interruptions.
- Must provide indoor and outdoor student supervision during programming hours.
Principal/Site Coordinator Program Director Evaluation:
Classified evaluation process completed on an annual basis.
