Abilene Public Schools (USD #435), Abilene, KS, is currently seeking a Part-Time Morning Preschool Classroom Aide.

• Minimum 18 years of age
• High School Diploma or GED

The Teacher Aideassists the Instructor in creating a positive

learning environment to facilitate the personal, social, and

intellectual development of students. To accomplish these tasks,

the Teacher Aideworks closely with the staff and administration to support students.

• Ability to assist in facilitating the personal, social, and intellectual development of students.
• Ability to assist in establishing a positive learning environment, and respond tothe individual educational needs of students.
• Ability to ensure all activities conform to District guidelines.
• Ability to communicate and work effectively and cooperatively with members ofthe school district and community .
• Ability to be fexible as schedules and daily activities may change.
• 6. Ability to operate all classroom equipment appropriately as required.
• Ability to work to implement the vision and mission of the District.

• Requires stooping, bending, kneeling, turning, and reaching.
• Requires prolonged sitting or standing.
• Must occasionally work in noisy and crowded environments, with numerous interruptions.

• Ability to prepare for classroom activities under the supervision of a licensed teacher.
• Ability to work with small groups of students to practice skills introduced by the teacher.
• Ability to assist individual children in need of special attention.
• Ability to perform clerical duties as required.
• Ability to set up audiovisual equipment.
• Ability to assist teacher with non-instructional classroom duties, such asserving snack, lunch supervision, recesssupervision, and assisting students with toileting and clothing routines.
• Ability to observe and follow all school district policies at all times.
• Ability to respond to information requests in a cooperative, courteous, and timely manner.
• Ability to keep student and personnel information and records confidential.
• Ability to implement and follow all District health and safety policies, including all precautions of the Bloodborne Pathogens Exposure Control Plan.
• Ability to perform other tasks and assume other responsibilities as directed by the Principal or Teacher.
