OverviewAs a Forklift Operator, you will play a key role in ensuring the efficient movement of materials and finished products throughout our facility. Primary responsibilities include transporting materials to work areas, moving finished goods to storage, returning unused materials to their designated locations. Additional duties: placing pallet tops, banding and shrink‑wrapping skids, moving trash bales, loading trash trailers, operating handheld scanners, managing inventory, maintaining printer, managing ribbons, assisting with truck loading/unloading.
WhatYou Will Be Doing
- Operate machinery safely and proficiently according to standards.
- Unload and load trailers.
- Use handheld scanners to receive orders and put away products into storage locations.
- Verify and maintain inventory.
- Perform routine inventory counts to ensure accuracy.
- Issue products to production lines.
- Consolidate product as needed.
- Keep area clean and organized for audits.
- Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and food safety standards.
- Complete FSQA training and programs for regulatory compliance.
- Report food safety hazards or non‑conformities promptly.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of the food safety culture.
10‑hour shifts Monday‑Thursday: 2:30 pm – 1:00 am. Overtime may be required during peak season.
Basic Qualifications- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Excellent communication skills, fluent in English.
- Ability to operate and maintain a forklift.
- Strong numerical skills for basic math calculations.
- Ability to perform quality control checks.
- Ability to work overtime.
- Must pass forklift certification training within the first week.
- Ottawa certification may be required.
- At least 2 years of forklift operating experience.
- Experience operating a handheld scanner.
- Passion for learning.
