Job detailsThe Accounting Specialist is a finance role responsible for supporting core accounting processes.
This role is designed to:
- Strengthen financial discipline through consistent execution of accounting
A key success factor is the ability to maintain the accuracy and timeliness of financial processes.
Primary Responsibilities – Accounting Specialist- Month-End Close Support
- Prepare journal entries and system interfaces within accounting systems (e.g., Quick Books)
- Support timely and accurate close for multiple entities
- General Ledger & Reconciliations
- Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations
- Ensure completeness, accuracy, and consistency across entities
- Expense Reporting & Credit Card Administration
- Support Concur reporting and expense tracking
- Provide spend visibility and reporting to leadership
- Billing & Payroll Support
- Crosstrain and provide coverage for billing and payroll functions
- Assist with workload balancing and continuity in team operations
- Accounts Payable Support
- Match invoices to purchase orders and receive documentation prior to payment
- Ensure vendor invoices are paid accurately and in accordance with company payment terms
- 2–5+ years of experience in accounting or related field
- Strong working knowledge of:
- General ledger accounting
- Month-end close processes
- Financial reporting and reconciliations
- Experience with ERP/accounting systems (e.g., Quick Books or similar)
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Associates Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field
- Background supporting order-to-cash workflows
- Exposure to industrial services, oil & gas, or field services environments
- Experience with expense platforms (e.g., Concur)
- Familiarity with GAAP and audit processes
- $20 - $25 an hour
