DescriptionThis position is responsible for processing admissions for the Center, PBX system operations, mailroom duties, and Plan of Care processing. Acts as an information resource to staff, patients, families, and other agencies as necessary.
This position requires endurance to perform tasks over long periods of work hours and the ability to perform essential functions without posing a "direct threat" in the workplace. Must be able to lift 25 pounds.
Additional Responsibilities- Obtains copies of all insurance cards and personal identification information and records all newly admitted patients in the computer with a high level of accuracy and in a timely manner.
- Follows all pre-admit chart prep procedures.
- Directs patients to sign and complete all necessary paperwork, explaining each form to patients, and reviews at the kiosk for incomplete and missing information.
- Gives all required facility & federal hand‑outs to all patients or their caregivers.
- Reviews, updates, distributes, and scans admissions papers as required; at the time of admission, as well as ensuring all copies or originals are forwarded to appropriate WTRC staff.
- Explains & qualifies eligible patients for the Donor Sponsorship Program, & enters the required information into the computer system. Routes information to appropriate staff.
- Ensures all opening & closing procedures required are performed daily and within the timeframe required.
- Maintains an extremely high level of customer service & confidentiality while ensuring HIPPA guidelines are followed at all times.
- Assists departments with secretarial/receptionist duties and scheduling functions.
- Actively works and processes the EMR "Plan of Cares Not Mailed" and "Plan of Cares Mailed" reports on a daily basis.
- Follows the process for placing reminder calls to all patients scheduled for services prior to arriving in Admissions. Actively collects co‑pay as appropriate.
- Performs other responsibilities as required.
A high school diploma or equivalent is required with a minimum of six months of work experience. Knowledge of the general admission process or basic office procedures, practices, and equipment necessary to function is required.
This position requires data entry skills. Experience in using Windows and Word is preferred. Must be able to maintain a high level of accuracy in data entry, the ability to multi‑task, and great communication skills to ensure quality customer service is provided to all customers at all times, including patients, their families, co‑workers, and all other customers not specifically listed.
