ResponsibilitiesThe Program Supervisor performs complex administrative and supervisory work under the direction of the managing attorney/office manager. Supports office management in overseeing team operations, setting performance goals, ensuring compliance with agency policies and procedures, and providing direct support and guidance to Child Support Officers and Technicians. Collaborates with leadership and external partners to serve Texas families.
- Supervise child support officers and support staff, assign and monitor work activities, prepare and conduct performance appraisals, initiate personnel actions, resolve work‑related issues, and participate in interviewing and hiring.
- Respond to moderately complex inquiries and resolve issues from agency management, government officials, attorneys, parents, advocacy and community groups, and other customers.
- Assist the Office Manager in planning, coordinating, monitoring and directing all field office operations and activities.
- Monitor field office performance and take corrective actions to achieve goals and objectives.
- Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, policies, procedures, and standards while providing superior customer service.
- Assess the validity of complaints against the IV‑D program impartially.
- Review and maintain production reports.
- Perform related work as assigned.
- Maintain relevant knowledge necessary to perform essential job functions.
- Attend work regularly in compliance with the agreed‑upon work schedule.
- Ensure security and confidentiality of sensitive and/or protected information.
- Comply with all agency policies and procedures, including ethics and integrity.
- Attend to other duties as required.
Program Supervisor II
- Education:
Graduation from high school or equivalent, or bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university; experience in a related field may substitute for the required education on a year‑for‑year basis. - Experience:
Three years of full‑time experience in Child Support Program, management, or supervisory roles. - Knowledge of child support policies, procedures and practices, and management principles.
- Computer skills for work processing, spreadsheets, and other software.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Sound judgment and effective decision‑making abilities.
- Ability to receive and respond positively to constructive feedback.
- Cooperative teamwork in a professional office environment.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to work in person at the assigned OAG location and to perform in‑person work with colleagues for the entirety of each work week.
- Ability to arrange for personal transportation for business‑related travel.
- Ability to work more than 40 hours as needed, in compliance with FLSA.
- Ability to lift and relocate 30 lbs.
- Ability to travel (including overnight) up to 5%.
Program Supervisor III (All of the above minimum qualifications for a Program Supervisor II, PLUS one additional year of full‑time experience in Child Support Program, management, or supervisory roles).
Preferred Qualifications- Education:
Graduation from an accredited four‑year college or university. - Experience:
Child Support Program and management. - Language:
Ability to read, write, and speak Spanish proficiently.
