Join Amazon’s mission to become Earth’s safest place to work. We are looking for a dedicated Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) Manager to lead our Global WHS Program and directly impact associate wellbeing while driving operational excellence.
ResponsibilitiesAs the site’s safety champion, you will:
- Lead safety compliance efforts, conduct comprehensive risk assessments, and implement practical solutions to protect associates.
- Analyze safety data, incident trends, and metrics to drive continuous improvement and preventive measures.
- Manage the first aid program and emergency response capabilities, ensuring immediate care is always available.
- Build relationships with Operations leadership, influencing strategic decisions and integrating safety into every aspect of the business.
- Serve as a trusted advisor, balancing safety excellence with operational demands.
- Oversee recordkeeping, workplace organization, and WHS training programs.
- Transform safety culture through leadership and innovative solutions.
- Leverage technology and data analytics to safeguard associates and enhance operational excellence.
- Measure performance against WHS policies, conduct site audits, and address non‑compliance issues.
- Travel: 50–70% of the time across various sites.
- Shift work: flexible, including nights and weekends.
- Physical demands: lift up to 49 lbs, frequent pushing, pulling, squatting, bending, reaching, and stair climbing; stand or walk for up to 12 hours.
- Work in variable noise, temperature, and weather conditions, especially in outside loading departments.
- Maintain effective care delivery during emergencies and assist emergency response at the site.
- Adult First Aid, CPR, AED certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross required or must be obtained within 3 weeks of start date.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, or 2+ years of Amazon (blue badge/FTE) experience.
- 3+ years of increasing responsibilities in WHS and/or environmental programs in manufacturing, production, or service operations.
- 3+ years of increasing responsibilities in people and performance management, or 2+ years of Amazon Safety (blue badge/FTE) experience.
- Experience in distribution center or manufacturing safety with a mix of exempt and non‑exempt employees at a site of at least 250 people.
- Master’s degree.
- Experience in a fast‑paced, changing/growing organization.
- Certified Safety Professional.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including pivot tables and chart development.
- Ability to manage multiple sites remotely.
The base salary range for this position is $63,000 – $94,600 annually (exact offer determined by experience, qualifications, and location). Compensation includes sign‑on payments, restricted stock units (RSUs), and comprehensive benefits such as health, dental, vision, prescription, life insurance, 401(k) matching, paid time off, and parental leave.
