The Senior Project Manager is to develop and lead our Government Contracting Division. This role is responsible for identifying, pursuing, and managing complex federal, state, and local construction projects nationwide—from proposal and contract award through project completion. The ideal candidate has a strong background in government contracting, RFP analysis, proposal development, and subcontractor sourcing, with proven success delivering projects on time, within scope, budget, and quality standards.
This position offers the opportunity to take full ownership of a new division focus, lead multidisciplinary teams, and drive growth through innovative, results-oriented project leadership.
- Lead the planning, execution, and closing of government construction projects, ensuring adherence to schedules, budgets, and safety protocols.
- Collaborate closely with clients, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and vendors to coordinate project activities and resolve issues promptly.
- Develop detailed project schedules using project management software to monitor progress and adjust plans as needed.
- Develop construction estimating processes and prepare accurate cost forecasts utilizing estimating tools.
- Review blueprints, schematics, and contract documents to ensure compliance with design specifications and regulatory standards.
- Manage procurement activities including bid solicitation, contract negotiations, and change order management using Construction management software.
- Conduct site visits regularly to supervise construction activities, verify work quality, read blueprints accurately, and ensure safety standards are maintained.
- Utilize tools like Pro Core and Bluebeam for document control, RFIs (Requests for Information), submittals, and communication tracking throughout the project lifecycle.
- Lead project coordination meetings to align team efforts, track milestones, and resolve scheduling conflicts efficiently.
- Ensure all project documentation is complete, accurate, and compliant with company policies and legal requirements.
- 5+ years’ experience as a project manager, preferably in the construction industry
- Proven experience in government, state and/or local construction contracting
- Ability to manage budgets and schedules
- Possess exceptional organizational and planning skills (detail-oriented person)
- Ability to recognize and solve problems independently
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Self-motivated, responsible and accountable
- Must be able to pass a background check, drug test, and have a clean driving record
