Field Construction Coordinator - Transmission Line-Substation
We are seeking a Field Construction Coordinator to oversee contractors performing construction on the Owner's electric transmission system. This role will ensure strict contract compliance, safe work practices, and adherence to design specifications. You’ll be involved in a wide variety of projects, from simple substation upgrades to the construction of new substations.
As a Field Construction Coordinator, you’ll play a critical role in identifying and resolving issues that could impact project success, including design, materials, contractor performance, access, and customer issues. You will also oversee project schedules, coordinating all field activities, and providing regular updates on construction progress to multiple stakeholders. You’ll work on several projects simultaneously, each at different stages of activity.
This position requires both office and fieldwork, with responsibilities shifting based on project needs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Ensure contractors comply with contracts and safety standards while working on the Owner's electric transmission system.
- Oversee a variety of construction projects, including upgrades and new substation builds.
- Identify and assist in resolving issues that could hinder project success, such as design problems, material shortages, or contractor performance challenges.
- Support the development and maintenance of project construction schedules.
- Coordinate efforts between various entities on site to ensure smooth operations.
- Update and communicate construction status and project progress to stakeholders.
- Balance office and field duties, as required by project needs.
- The employee may be required to stand; reach with hands and arms, stoop and kneel
- The employee may be subject to rough terrain and inclement weather
- The employee may be required to sit or stand for long periods of time
- The employee may be required to lift, carry, push, pull or move up to 50 pounds
- The employee may be required to travel
- The employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions including wet and/or humid conditions
- This position may require working more than 40 hours per week
- 10+ years of relevant work experience (i.e. Transmission/Substation/Journey Lineman)
- Experience working in the Utility industry is a plus
- Experience working in the utility industry is highly preferred
- Compliance management experience is a plus
- Proficient at using a computer, iPad and Microsoft Office products
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Must currently be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship
